Founders

As founders of Homestead School, Marsha and Peter continue to serve as stewards of the school’s founding vision—rooted in Montessori philosophy, nature connection, and whole-child development. The Glen Spey campus sparkles with their loving and devoted care of the grounds.

Trustees

Homestead’s Trustees are fiduciaries of the organization and are tasked with supporting its mission and setting long-term strategic vision. Trustees do not make decisions related to the day-to-day operations of the school. Those decisions are entrusted to the school's administration and teaching staff. For any questions about their work, please contact trustees@homesteadeducation.org

Instructional Teams

The Instructional Teams are the heart of teaching and learning at Homestead. These dedicated educators and guides bring the school’s mission to life in the classroom, studio, field, and forest. Through their expertise, creativity, and deep care for each learner, they design and facilitate experiences that are academically rigorous, developmentally attuned, and rooted in Montessori principles.

Working in close connection with the Guiding Circle and Campus Support Teams, they cultivate environments where curiosity thrives, purpose is discovered, and the full potential of each student can unfold. Their work shapes not only the daily learning journey but also the lifelong skills, values, and sense of stewardship our graduates carry into the world.

Campus Support Teams

These teams of dedicated individuals ensure that the daily life of our campuses run smoothly, safely, and in alignment with our mission. Through their care, organization, and responsiveness, they create the conditions in which learning can flourish—supporting students, families, and staff in ways that are seen and unseen.

Working in close connection with the Guiding Circle and Instructional Teams, they are points of contact for essential operations, student and family support, campus safety, and community well-being. Their work sustains the heartbeat of the school.

Guiding Circle

At Homestead, everyone is accountable to and leads their roles. The Guiding Circle is a team of dedicated stewards who provide oversight and leadership of the school’s operations, programs, and culture in service of a vibrant and regenerative learning journey. Each member of the team works collaboratively to uphold the school’s mission and to create an educational environment that is magical, meaningful, and alive. While these team members hold a wider set of roles, they serve the community as specific points of contact.
