Tuition, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
Tuition
Tuition at the Homestead School is based on the true cost to educate a student in each division: the early childhood program, elementary program (Grades 1–6), junior high (Grades 7–9), and senior high (Grades 10–12). These rates are reviewed and adjusted annually by the Board of Trustees. See below for tuition rates.
After Mid March, you will have received notification regarding any financial aid or scholarship awards. You will then be asked to confirm your payment plan through FACTS. Families may choose monthly installments over the course of 10 months or 12 months, beginning in July.
Financial Aid
In order to allocate our resources wisely and fairly, the Homestead School has enlisted the help of the FACTS service to evaluate each family’s financial information. All findings from FACTS are kept confidential. If the family qualifies for and seeks financial aid beyond 40% of tuition they may apply for scholarships.
How To Apply
Before applying for Financial Aid and/or Scholarships, new students will need to complete the Homestead School Admissions Application.
After selecting “Yes” indicating you would like to apply for a reduced rate in the Homestead School application, complete the Application for Financial Aid through FACTS.
The analysis is then reviewed by the school to determine the final allocation of financial aid resources for the coming school year. Homestead considers a number of factors including, but not limited to:
Each family’s demonstrated financial need and overall financial circumstances. This includes adjusted gross income, assets, indebtedness, and discretionary expenses. Families who complete their application in the first round (by February 15th) will be prioritized. After this date, applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Financial aid determinations are made for one year only, and therefore, you must re-apply each school year.
The FACTS financial aid application process is self-guided. You may navigate in and out of the program, allowing you to partially complete an application and go back to it at another time. FACTS provides an online email support and a 24/7 helpline to assist you through the process. There is a $45 application fee, to be paid by credit card upon completion of the session. If this fee presents a hardship for a family wishing to apply, please contact the admissions team.
Parents’ Financial Statement and Supporting Information
In order to create a foundation of understanding for dialogue with the school, families applying for reduced tuition are required to submit salary and asset information, including complete tax returns for the past year, via FACTS. Families who are not requesting a reduced tuition rate are not required to submit any financial information.
After reviewing the FACTS Financial Aid applications, along with any personal information or special circumstances brought to their attention via the FA application, the school’s Financial Aid Committee will make a determination as to each family’s award. All information submitted is held confidentiality by the Financial Aid Committee.
The Homestead School carefully reviews each individual financial aid application to come to a determination. As a non-profit organization, we strive to support the needs of the community, setting aside funding for qualifying families tuition assistance. We encourage families to apply for financial aid early, as this funding is limited.
Scholarships
To make our school accessible to deserving students, prospective and currently-enrolled families can apply for scholarships offered directly by the school. Scholarships have numerous different opportunities both based on merit and/or hardship. The maximum scholarships Homestead offers are a total of 75% of tuition (inclusive of financial aid). The majority of scholarship awards are reserved for families who demonstrate a need beyond standard tuition. However, some non-need based scholarship awards will be granted annually.
Scholarship Options
How to Apply
Please note that this is a two step process:
All scholarship applicants complete a Scholarship application demonstrating a desire to support the mission of the Homestead School. Applicants will be asked to submit an essay to accompany their application along with student records and a letter of recommendation for any students new to Homestead.
Applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and scholarships are awarded before finalizing the family’s Homestead Tuition Agreement for the coming school year.
Conditions of Scholarships are found in the Scholarship Application on FACTS. Different scholarship categories will outline these requirements.
This application must be completed by February 15th in order to be considered for our first round of Homestead School Scholarship awards. Applications submitted after February 15 will be considered, based on the application date and any remaining scholarship funds available. Scholarship Awards will be offered and awarded in the Spring of the school year prior to which the scholarship is awarded and may cover up to 75% of standard tuition.
All information collected and awards given are kept confidential.
