Homestead Traditions
At Homestead, we believe that celebrating milestones is an integral part of building a strong, connected community. Once enrolled, families can look forward to celebrating Homestead milestones and seasonal traditions at each of our campuses.
In the Fall, we gather for Parents Night, Listening Conferences, Student-Led Conferences, Harvest Festival, and our Mission and Vision check-in. Winter brings Progress Reports paired with Conferences, Cocoa and Cheer, and Soup and Sledding. Spring brings Earth Day Service, Spring Fling, Bridge Ceremonies, Graduation, and an End of Year Celebration.
Throughout the year, families can also expect invitations to class-specific celebrations, while students can look forward to grade specific traditions, including birthday walks around the sun, starting art class in Kindergarten, working with Mrs. Comstock on creating birdhouse gourds to save rainforest land, sixth-grade dinner, Fall Intersession, Spring Intersession, etc!
As we are a school that encourages student-led initiatives, students are also welcome to create their own meaningful traditions. For example, our first graduating Senior High class decided that each graduating class moving forward would plant a tree at the Glen Spey campus.
With each tradition and milestone honored, it is our intention to strengthen our school’s commitment to caring for our earth and each other.
Wider Community Gatherings
Homestead School also offers numerous opportunities for the wider community to join us for events and outreach. Children and families of all ages are welcome to attend our annual Harvest Festival, Open House Celebrations, Soup & Sledding and more! For information about current scheduled events see below.
