Abi Johnson

Abi Johnson is an ecologist with research experience in applied ecology and conservation. Over the years Abi has researched primate nutrition in Uganda, human-wildlife conflict in Kenya, lemur color vision in North Carolina, and invasive fire ants in Florida. She holds an M.A. in Animal Behavior from Hunter College and an M.S. in Conservation Biology from the University of Central Florida.

Abi is also recently trained in Secondary Montessori education and teaches science courses at the CCHS campus. Throughout her career, she has taught at both the primary and collegiate level, including first and second grade science at a NYC charter school and undergraduate biology and ecology in Florida. Her greatest fulfillment in those positions was utilizing nature and hands-on experiments to illustrate the scientific process. She joined Homestead with the goal of continuing to foster scientific literacy at CCHS.
