Our Collaboration with SUNY Sullivan
Follow Main Street into Loch Sheldrake and within a few minutes you arrive at the SUNY Sullivan campus where CCHS students, dually enrolled at SUNY Sullivan, have access to the complete catalog of course offerings and college facilities.
The SUNY Sullivan Partnership
As early as 9th grade, students who demonstrate academic and organizational readiness may begin taking up to three college courses. These are taught across a full year rather than compressed into a single semester, giving students the chance to adjust to the rigor and expectations of college-level work without the added stress of accelerated deadlines.
In 10th grade, students step onto the SUNY Sullivan campus for their first college class. From there, their schedules gradually expand to include both semester-long and year-long courses, fulfilling requirements for both high school and college graduation. By 11th and 12th grade, many core requirements are complete, and students gain greater freedom to choose electives—often in specialized fields such as science, nursing, computer science, or the arts—while dividing their time between the Homestead campus and SUNY Sullivan.
By graduation, learners often leave with 60+ transferable undergraduate credits, enabling them to enter four-year colleges ready to take sophomore or junior level courses. Alongside their traditional SUNY transcript (with letter grades and GPA), students showcase their achievements through the Mastery Transcript, which highlights competencies across academic, personal, and real-world domains. Together, these records present a compelling portrait of readiness for higher education.
Beyond the incredible savings many families realize on Bachelor’s program tuition, students also gain invaluable life skills on campus: learning to advocate for themselves, seek out tutoring and counseling, connect with professors during office hours, and navigate the many resources of a college environment. While they may not yet live in dorms, our graduates leave as seasoned college students, confident and prepared to make the most of their next academic adventure.
