Laura Cerrato

Laura comes to Homestead after following the guiding themes of teaching, food and the environment throughout her life. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Connecticut, Laura moved to California and taught outdoor environmental education to 5th and 6th graders. Laura later earned a Master's degree in Agroecology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås, Norway, following her passion to help build sustainable food and farming systems.

Upon completing her Master's degree, Laura practiced sustainable farming and permaculture, in both the USA and France until 2021, when she returned to the United States and settled in Sullivan County. She loves spending time with her family (her young son is also at Homestead!), traveling, enjoying nature and sharing food with family and friends.
