Amanda Truelove

Amanda joined the Homestead Community in 2026 as a Substitute Teacher after touring the Homestead for her daughter and immediately feeling the sense of community. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education with a concentration in Sculpture from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Amanda worked as an art teacher for 4 years in North Carolina for grades K-5, where she created several after school art and set design programs to offer opportunities to extend learning beyond the classroom. Her passion, kindness and patience since she was 15 has led her into working as a director for a small Pennsylvania agency that provides adults with disabilities ongoing support to reach their individual goals and aspirations for the past 7 years.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family and friends especially at the beach or while camping. She enjoys throwing on the pottery wheel and using her pieces to spread joy to others who may be going through difficult times. She also enjoys hiking, kayaking and gardening.

She is dedicated to guiding children to explore, create, and discover through hands-on learning and meaningful experiences in a Montessori environment.
