Alpaca Field Trip

During October, 2003, the Homestead graders visited alpaca and sheep farms to see firsthand how domestic animals are raised to produce fibers for clothing and other uses. These topics directly relate to the students' yearlong study project entitled, "Challenge at Lowell: Great People in 19th Century America." The children are studying the advances and problems created by the Industrial Revolution, specifically in textile production. A three day trip to Lowell, Massachusetts, in May will cap off the study.
